Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you had the opportunity to take a bit of a break. I can’t believe it’s 2010 already! It was lovely to have a bit of time out with my family after such a busy year. Christmas was beautiful as always, we enjoyed a big family feast with prawns and glazed ham and lots of lovely fresh salads. It was a joyful day.

Many of you have asked when my cookbook, Our Family Table, is coming out. It will be available from 1st April, just in time for Mothers’ Day. I am really excited about sharing not only the recipes, but the stories and memories from my family and others. There are some really lovely old heritage recipes along with my own family’s favourite food. I hope you’ll love it.

It seems from the number of hits many of you have tried my Tomato and Basil Dip. Click here for another easy entertainer – Peanut Satay Dip.

I’ve been asked many times how I am managing to juggle family, and all the new things that are happening. I am so grateful that I have been given an opportunity to make a career doing something that I love, and even more grateful that I have such a generous and supportive family. I am slowly getting more organised and learning how everything will fit in. It’s truly a pleasure to be doing the things I love most – cooking, and writing, and enjoying the company of my family and friends. I am a very lucky person.

I promised you all some new recipes for 2010. Here are a few to start with. The Chicken Satay is a favourite in our house. There will be more to come so visit often!

- Lamb Leg Steaks with Tomato & Olive
- Chinese Marinated Pork Scotch Fillet
- Satay Dip
- Satay Chicken

I’ll be in touch soon – happy cooking!
